Our Team

Founded by Clark Drew Jr. in 1978, Clark Drew Construction is a family owned and operated commercial, residential, and concrete construction company. Today, Clark’s sons James & Chris own and operate the company with a reputation of quality, on-time, construction services backed by our team of highly skilled and educated team of construction professionals.

Our company and employees have a deep commitment to serve and support our community. We are invested in our community through financial support and volunteering opportunities including  youth and community organizations, wildlife conservation programs, and serving as members of the local services such as, the volunteer fire department, and national guard.

As a general contractor, we employ skilled carpenters and concrete laborers, and self perform rough & finish carpentry, cast in place concrete, and steel erection. We strive to create work environments that are safe, based upon respect, and rewarding.

Clark Drew, III

James oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of Clark Drew Construction, inc., including residential developments and commercial projects. He has expertise in land acquisition and development, and construction from pre-planning to closeout. James is an active member of the Brookings Community as a City Planning and Zoning Commissioner, and a proud supporter many area groups, organizations, youth sports teams. Throughout the year, he enjoys attending his boy’s sporting activities, and Jackrabbit athletics.

Chris Drew

Chris Drew

Chris is co-owner of Clark Drew Construction. He started working with his father Clark Drew, Sr. when he was a teenager, learning the construction business. Chris completed his Construction Management Degree from South Dakota State University, and took over the Civil Construction Services of the company. Together, with James, he is committed to producing quality projects and relationships, and maintaining a safe, team focused environment for our employees and subcontractors. Chris is a proud supporter of local youth sporting teams, Jr. Achievement, Brookings Rangers Hockey, CASA, and area wildlife conservation groups.

Matt Chandler

Matt Chandler

A 2008 graduate of South Dakota State University in Construction Management, Matt has expertise in managing Design-Bid-Build, Negotiated Sum, Guaranteed Maximum Price, and Design Build projects. Matt has the ability to adapt to each project’s unique requirements, and has amassed an impressive portfolio of successful projects including educational, financial, mixed-use, multifamily, industrial, and health care, with several achieving LEED Silver certification. Matt’s effective communication skills, strong leadership, problem solving, and collaborative management philosophy, provide our clients with trust and comfort in knowing that their expectations will be met. He is a proud member of the Army National Guard, where he has served for 17 years.

Randy Roiger

Randy Roiger

Randy brings 23 years of construction experience to our commercial construction team. A graduate from SDSU in Construction Management, his expertise in estimating, personnel management, and project scheduling, aides in the success of every project he is involved with. Randy has managed many types of projects, from state-of-the art laboratory spaces, complex steam distribution infrastructures, to a cinema complex. In his spare time, Randy enjoys participating in sporting events, hunting, and fishing. He has been an essential part of our team since 2007.

Aaron Chandler

Aaron Chandler

Aaron is a hands-on site superintendent, and has been with Clark Drew Construction since his graduation from South Dakota State University’s Construction Management Program in 2013. His attention to detail, construction knowledge, and strong relationships with subcontractors has contributed to the successful on-time completion of every project he has been a part of. He has served as a proud member of the Army National Guard 740th Company Transportation Unit since 2008.

Anna Drew

Anna Drew

A 1997 graduate from South Dakota State University, Anna enjoys working with clients to design homes and multi–family developments with emphasis on functionality and curb appeal. Pre-planning to completion, she is involved in all aspects of Clark Drew Construction’s residential construction services. Anna is a member of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains Advisory board, supporter of Brookings Ranger Hockey, and outside of work, enjoys spending time with her family.

Brady Renkly

Brady Renkly

Brady is a site superintendent with years of hands-on construction experience. He graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute with an Associates Degree in Building Trades and from South Dakota State University, majoring in Construction Management. Brady has a strong understanding of quality building and the finished product. His open communication, and established relationships with subcontractors and suppliers allows for a positive construction site. He joined our team in 2009, while attending SDSU.

Cordell Wobig

Cordell Wobig

Cordell received his Construction Management Degree in 2018 from SDSU. He has both residential and commercial building experience, so he has a strong knowledge of the mechanics of construction. Cordell works side-by-side with our project managers to ensure the projects run smoothly, safely, and on schedule.

Dalton Holm

Dalton Holm

Dalton is an experienced site superintendent that has been with Clark Drew Construction since he was a construction laborer while attending South Dakota State University as undergraduate, becoming full-time upon completion of his Construction Management degree in 2013. Through his strong work ethic, Dalton always delivers a quality, on-time product. He is a proud, 5 year, member of the Brookings Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time he enjoys hunting and fishing, and spending time with his wife and new son.

Jackie Voelker

Project Accountant

Jackie Voelker

Jackie has over 25 years of accounting experience, and is the newest addition to the Clark Drew Management Team. She works closely with our project managers with job start up, cost changes throughout the projects, pay applications, subcontractor payments and project closeouts. She enjoys cheering-on her boys at their athletic activities, and is active in her church and community events.

Sean Chandler

Sean Chandler

Sean has been an essential part of the success of Clark Drew Construction’s residential construction since 2001. He oversees scheduling of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the on-time completion, and quality construction of each and every project. Sean manages the day-to-day work of our residential construction crews, and communicates with homeowners and project owners to maintain a smooth building process. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing and watching his children’s activities.

Tim Byrne

Tim started at Clark Drew Construction in 2011 as a residential framer. His work ethic, attention to detail, and organization led to his promotion to site superintendent in 2017. He works with project managers to coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that the project runs smoothly, and on schedule. Tim’s quality of work, and construction knowledge is the key to the success of any project he is involved with.

Raena Drew

Raena graduated from South Dakota State University in 1997. She is responsible for AR/AP and payroll for the company, as well as, Human Resources. Outside of work, Raena enjoys spending time with family, and going to her children’s activities.
